A Brief History of Tranquility Counseling

Tranquility Counseling was established out of my lifelong dream to work with individuals and couples in a counseling capacity. I desire in all interfaces to see my clients in the highest positive regard, and in a non-judgmental way. I am an encourager by nature and enjoy discovering innate strengths and resilience in people that they cannot see in themselves. I value meeting individuals right where they are and developing a plan that is custom to what their goals desires and needs are for various seasons in life. We will move at your pace so that goals are achievable. We will work side by side together but you will be the master of your journey and together we will come up with a map/plan to navigate these stormy seasons. I limit the number of clients I see to assure the highest level of care before, during and after the time we meet. I feel humbled and honored to serve the individuals and couples in my care.

My History

I am a mother of three adult children and have been married for 30 years. This history provides special insight to the many challenges that you have or may be encountering. My personal life journey provides a level of relatability that exponentially improves your counseling journey. I combine professional counseling with personal insight. The combination of both personal and professional experience is a special resource available to you.

Flexible Scheduling

As mentioned above, I see a limited number of clients and provide flexible scheduling during the day, evening and some weekend hours. Flexible scheduling is available and easy to accommodate.

Professional Training

My original training was in business and finance. I graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in Finance. I received my Master of Business Administration from Capital University after completing post graduate studies. I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Ashland University. I am currently licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am now devoting this season of my life to helping others through clinical counseling. I have had several trainings/certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Beck Institute. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my therapy work. I also have training through Prepare and Enrich couples training.
